Yesterday we said "naming the best anything you've ever had is a pretty tall task." Today, at the Marin County Farmer's Market in San Rafael, we had the BEST dates of our entire lives. They were Halawy dates: soft, sweet, creamy, caramelly, amber colored and melted in our mouths. We hope Halawy calls for a second date.
